There’s not much time to relax under the Nice sun, especially between midday and midnight. Back to work is never far away. And yet you want to eat well, well and fast (well, fast enough). There’s no shortage of restaurants in Nice. The proof is in all the good addresses I’ve shared with you on the blog: hôtel amour nice, le bocca nissa, restaurant l’écluse..
Today, I’d like to share with you 7 great ideas for restaurants where you can eat out in Nice with your colleagues in the joy and good humour of the south.
1. Le Bocal
A must in Nice! Open only until 3pm, this local restaurant is very popular with Nice locals between lunchtime and midday. The menu features a list of tasty dishes with Mediterranean influences and a few Asian touches. That’s what surprised me about the diversity of the dishes. You can feel the creativity behind it 🙂
What’s more, everything is homemade, using local, market-fresh produce, served in a simple, authentic and friendly setting by a superbly friendly team!
Open every day of the week from 10am to 3pm, except Sundays
📍 – 7 Rue Alberti, 06000 Nice
2. Deli Banh Mi
The Vietnamese street food par excellence in Nice. Their speciality is banh mi, the famous Franco-Vietnamese ‘fusion’ sandwich filled with raw vegetables and grilled meats. No brioches or pita bread, here we’re talking French baguette. A richly flavoured sandwich that you can gobble up in just a few minutes in this friendly little canteen. Perfect for a quick lunch.
Other canteen specialities: bobun, soup, spring rolls… the classics of Vietnamese cuisine.
Open every day of the week from 9am to 4pm except Sundays
📍 – 30 Rue de l’Hôtel des Postes, 06000 Nice
☎️ – 09 87 78 34 44
3. Deli Bao
Here’s deli banh mi’s little brother, which opened in March 2020 (and yes, just before COVID…). No such luck? And yet they’re still standing three years later! After the success of deli banh mi’s Franco-Vietnamese sandwich, the team decided to open a new address in Nice’s carré d’or, with a cosier atmosphere and a terrace whose decor is a real eye-catcher. On the menu, no banh mi on the horizon but another Vietnamese speciality: banh bao, a soft brioche filled with meat and raw vegetables, a real delight! Added to this, you’ll find other Vietnamese specialities such as buns (cold rice vermicelli with raw vegetables and/or meat), coms (rice flavoured in broth with raw vegetables and/or meat), pho soup… Order with your eyes closed! On the other hand, I’ve quickly noticed that prices have gone up recently, especially for my favourite dish: the com cha, which has risen from 13 euros to 19 euros…. No comment! That would be the only downside.
4. Panivore
At Panivore, you’ll find dishes that are both healthy and simple. Their speciality? Breads filled with local, fresh and organic ingredients (panivore meaning “bread eater”). Mind you, panivore doesn’t offer just any bread. In fact, the bread on offer is made exclusively from organic, flavour-rich flours. You can choose everything on the menu à la carte, or you can opt for the full menu, with a choice of bread, a choice of side dishes, a choice of dessert and a house drink.

5. Casa Becchio
A sure bet for lunch with colleagues and/or friends between noon and midday. At Casa Becchio, you’ll have the chance to sample the superb cuisine of soja.cuisine from Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm to 3.30pm, which offers tried and tested Asian and Mediterranean dishes: breaded beef tataki, the beautiful truffled beef bun, salmon tartare with vinegared rice, prawn tempura salad… A real treat! All served either on the terrace in the sunshine or indoors in a warm and friendly setting.

6. KalŌs
Located in Nice’s famous Place des Pins just 200m from the Jumalee Parfum boutique, Kalos Nice is known for being the benchmark Mediterranean street food. So, you’re in for a treat with pita breads filled with vegetables and butchered meat. Vegetarians and vegans will also be well catered for. Although there are some superb vegetarian restaurants in Nice, Kalos Nice also offers meatless dishes such as the vegan pita for 8 euros and the falafel plate for 13 euros
Their specialities: homemade moussaka with minced meat and pita bread at 12 euros and feta and parsley puff pastry at 5 euros

7. Maison Céline
The exception of my selection, OK it’s not a restaurant, rather a fine tartterie in the centre of Nice which opened in December 2022 and for which I had a big crush <3 . So much so that I wrote an article about this wonderful discovery and that’s why I’m adding it to my selection of “lunchtime restaurants”. Maison Céline is renowned for its delicious, extremely well-made pastries and viennoiseries, but it also offers a super-tasty range of savoury products. I fell in love with their sandwich with such soft bread, you can feel the finesse behind it! It’s a perfect place to eat in or take away between lunch and dinner. And for people who telework, you can also work directly from Maison Céline on one condition: connect to your wifi from your phone 🙂
