There are a number of places on the French Riviera where you can feel calm, far away from everything, perched on the top of a village or the crest of a baou, to scan the world around you. Today, I take you to the banks of the Siagne, in a green setting, still calm and far from the world, where the restaurant l’écluse opened its doors in 2015. Like the Cabanon in Cap d’Ail, time stands still for a moment, the only difference is that one overlooks the incredible Siagne River while the other plunges us into the Mediterranean Sea.
1. The l’Ecluse Restaurant: a small haven of peace on the banks of the Siagne
The l’Ecluse restaurant in Pégomas is a real haven of peace that offers an incredible panorama of nature. It is original in several ways:
- its location on the banks of the Siagne, a long emerald green river that flows into the Var and Alpes Maritimes departments. You will be able to contemplate a breathtaking panorama from your table, and by chance, watch the little ducks wander along the river. A moment of total disconnection. A change of scenery guaranteed!
- its surprising decoration since the restaurant is located in a barge. The setting is both idyllic and relaxing. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The decor is classy and modern. Although it is an ideal spot to spend time with friends and family, I would say that the place is more suitable for a romantic dinner <3
2. A tasty Mediterranean cuisine
The l’Ecluse restaurant offers traditional French and Mediterranean cuisine prepared with fresh and local products. The menu includes a variety of starters, main courses and desserts. Prices range from €25 to €40. The restaurant also offers a selection of carefully chosen wines to accompany the dishes, providing a rich and complete dining experience.
As for my experience, I was overwhelmed by the beauty and serenity of the place when I first came, but I found my dish (poke bowl) very heavy… But as we are entitled to a second chance, I went back there with my parents who came from Paris, this time, it was the right one! My parents ordered a braserade which they gobbled up in no time. As for me, I fully enjoyed my cod.
In addition to its à la carte menu, l’Ecluse also offers special menus for special occasions and events. They can also accommodate groups and private events.
