Summer is just around the corner, and the French Riviera region is the perfect place to kick off the summer season: from private beaches and rooftops to village festivals, sporting events, concerts and the Fête de la Musique, there’s plenty of choice to keep the tourists coming.
Let’s take a closer look at the different events I’ve selected on the French Riviera.
1. Hippie Bohemia Festival in Valbonne
Head for the village of Valbonne, one of my favourite villages in the Alpes Maritimes. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June, the Festival Hippie de Valbonne will be taking place, organised by the village shopkeepers’ association. The festival features a hippie market, ready-to-wear clothing, jewellery, crafts, art, a wellness area, food trucks and a restaurant. And don’t forget the DJ and concerts from 5pm.
2. Ironman Nice
Nice is home to one of the world’s first Ironman events. This year, the 2023 Ironman will take place on 25 June. Set between the sea and the mountains, the Nice Ironman offers a spectacular panorama and a finish on one of the most beautiful promenades in the world. The Ironman de Nice is one of dеs 2 іrоnmаn lаbеllіsés еn Frаnсе, it is the bеrсеаu of the trіаthlоn еurоpéеn.

3. Sol.airmusic
1 hour from Nice and 45 minutes from Cannes, sol.airmusic is organising an event on 25 June at an undisclosed location. For this second edition, sol.airmusic is offering a varied programme of music: Hip Hop, house, disco, minimal, afro-groove prepared to perfection, live painting, the famous lakazaley foodtrucks and activities… in a unique setting.
For this second edition, the organisers of sol.airmusic are proud to be able to invite their closest DJ friends. Extremely talented and of great musical diversity. DJs from different horizons, from the Nice and Cannes region and also from Colombia, their musical influences between soul, funk and house will make you dance all day long. Dj set on vinyl.
On the catering side, you’ll find a food truck with Creole cuisine, LA KAZ A LEY, offering refined dishes full of flavour.

4.La Crème Festival in Villefranche-sur-Mer
This summer’s not-to-be-missed event on the Côte d’Azur takes place on 16, 17 and 18 June in the fabulous citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
During the three-day festival, the event pays tribute to the identity and authenticity of the Côte d’Azur. On the programme: sea outings, yoga classes, spotlighting the current music scene, DJ sets, local gastronomy… Day or night, the Crème Festival invites you to a unique environment between the Citadelle and the sea.

5. Les Nuits Carrées in Antibes
Another of this summer’s key events, on a par with the crème festival, is the Nuits Carrées in Antibes.
The Nuits Carrées festival is a not-to-be-missed event in the region, taking place from 22 to 24 June 2023. Set up from 2007 to 2019 at the foot of the monumental Fort Carré on the seafront, the Nuits Carrées have managed to make the most of a historic site dating back to the Renaissance, offering a programme each year that mixes headliners and new discoveries, with low prices to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
