There are some addresses that we treasure, those where we feel a bit at home. For me, it’s Copenhagen Coffee Lab, a small Danish chain that has set up shop on the French Riviera and has found a special place in my day. Whether in Nice or Cagnes-sur-Mer, it’s become my ’emergency’ coffee shop – the one I turn to when I don’t know where to go, but also a place where I really like to linger.
Two addresses in Nice, a practical choice
Copenhagen Coffee Lab has two locations in Nice. They’re perfect for coffee breaks between meetings or impromptu work sessions. Whether I’m in the city centre or further east, I know I can enjoy the Scandinavian atmosphere, quality coffee and home-made pastries. These two addresses are my safe havens: an ’emergency coffee shop’ when I don’t know where else to go.
Cagnes-sur-Mer: my favourite
But if there’s one address that has really captured my heart, it’s the one in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Here, the space is bigger and brighter, and the furniture… I love it. Light-coloured wooden tables, comfy chairs and soft sofas: everything has been thought out so that you can stay for a long time. It’s my ideal place to work on my computer, read a book or just enjoy a quiet moment with a steaming coffee and a pastry. While there are plenty of coffee shops in Nice where you can work and have a good hot drink, my first choice is this Copenhagen Coffee Lab. The atmosphere is relaxed, almost family-like, and that makes all the difference: you just want to sit back and savour the passing time.
Coffee and treats that make all the difference
Of course, Copenhagen Coffee Lab is also a good hot latte, even if it’s not the best, to be honest. There really are some superb coffee shops in Nice where you can drink really good quality coffee. On the other hand, I really like their pastries: the soft blueberry brioches, a real delight, or the carrot cake, everything is homemade and generous.
But I mustn’t forget their savoury range, which is really interesting. My absolute favourite is their salmon-avocado bun, available for €7.50: fresh, balanced and really delicious, it’s my favourite choice when I want to have lunch there. They also offer well-stocked grilled sandwiches, as well as colourful and nutritious salads, perfect for a lighter break. Thanks to this variety, I can work there without having to look for somewhere else to have lunch.
My “office annexe” on the Côte d’Azur
In the end, Copenhagen Coffee Lab became my ‘side office’ on the French Riviera. When I don’t know where to go, I know I can count on these addresses. But my favourite is the one in Cagnes-sur-Mer, for its space, its furniture and its atmosphere, where everything is designed to make you feel good. Even the music soothes me and allows me to concentrate on my work. It’s where I feel really at ease, and where my coffee breaks become little moments of happiness.
