Maison Céline, the best pastry shop to discover in Nice

Here’s a new foodie place I’ve discovered in the last few weeks. And yes, for those who follow my blog and my stories on my instagram @love.ly.south_, you will say that I only talk about “food” but at the same time, the culinary scene in Nice keeps evolving and always offers us such hot spots. The latest: the ICO restaurant specialising in South American tapas. Of course, there are still the classics that you can find in the article on the best Mediterranean restaurants in Nice.

But today, we’re going on a completely different register, more sweet oriented with the superb artisanal pastry shop Maison Céline located at 24 avenue de la Liberté in Nice (not far from the pedestrian area). A “fine tart shop” which was founded by Paul Occhipinti, Meilleur Ouvrier de France in chocolate and confectionery, Mathieu Ansquer, a former employee of the Eden Roc in Antibes, and his partner Flavia Carvhalo, who joined forces to offer high quality products. And what quality!

It’s always delicate every time I go to this pastry shop. I always stay at least 5 minutes in front of the window to decide and I let all the people in front of me pass by “ShouldI take a pastry? or a viennoiserie? Oh but this little lemon meringue pie looks good to me… Oh but there are also these cakes, how beautiful they are ! That’s what’s going on in my head ^^

The different products of Maison Céline pastry shop

Maison Céline is known for its delicious pastries and cakes made from fresh, quality ingredients sourced from local French and Italian producers. There are all sorts of nuggets that you just want to eat them all.

First of all, there are viennoiseries with a perfectly worked aesthetic that seriously makes you want to taste them all. Their croissants remind me of the croissants of the pastry chef Cédric Grolet because of their aesthetic. You can feel the taste for detail and that’s what makes them so unique.

But their trademark is their delicious pastries, which are truly breathtaking and have equally elaborate visuals. Their signature lemon meringue pie with a floral design reminds me of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy.

Their range also includes eclairs, tarts, macaroons, cakes, but also biscuits, chocolates, jams and ice creams. There is also a selection of seasonal products, such as Christmas logs, galettes des rois and Easter eggs.

Maison Céline also offers a range of savoury products such as quiches and sandwiches, but also hot and cold drinks to accompany your pastries.

A simple and effective decoration

The Maison Céline pastry shop has a beautiful atmosphere and an elegant decoration. A perfect setting to enjoy your favourite pastries while having a coffee or tea. Also, it’s a nice place to work with your computer. WARNING: there is no wifi code!
