Here’s a new « foodie » address I’ve discovered in recent weeks. And yes, for those of you who follow my blog and my stories on my instagram @love.ly.south_, you’ll say that all I talk about is « food », but at the same time, the culinary scene in Nice never stops evolving and always offers us such hot spots. The latest: the ICO restaurant specializing in South American tapas. But today, we’re off on a completely different, sweeter note with the superb artisanal patisserie Maison Céline at 24 avenue de la Liberté in Nice (not far from the pedestrian zone).
Maison Céline is a « tarterie fine » founded by Paul Occhipinti, Meilleur Ouvrier de France specializing in chocolate and confectionery, Mathieu Ansquer, formerly of the Eden Roc in Antibes, and his partner Flavia Carvhalo, who have joined forces to offer high-quality products. And what quality!
It’s always a treat every time I visit this patisserie. I always stay at least 5 minutes in front of the window to make up my mind, and I let all the people in front of me pass me by: « Shall I have a pastry? or a viennoiserie? Oh, but this little lemon meringue tart really appeals to me… Oh, but there’s these cakes too, they’re beautiful! » That’s what’s going on in my head ^^

Maison Céline pastry products
Maison Céline is known for its delicious pastries and cakes made with fresh, quality ingredients sourced from local French and Italian producers. You’ll find all sorts of nuggets that you’ll want to gobble up.
First and foremost, you’ll find viennoiseries with a perfectly crafted aesthetic that seriously makes you want to try them all. In fact, their croissants remind me of the croissants of pastry chef Cédric Grolet in their aesthetics. You can feel the attention to detail, and that’s what makes them so unique.
But what really makes them stand out are their delicious pastries, which are truly to die for, with visuals that are just as meticulous and elaborate. Their signature: a lemon meringue tart with a floral design that makes me think of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy perfume.
Their range also includes éclairs, tarts, macarons and cakes, as well as cookies, chocolates, jams and ice creams. There’s also a selection of seasonal products, such as Yule logs, galettes des rois and Easter eggs.
Maison Céline also offers a range of savoury products such as quiches and sandwiches, as well as hot and cold drinks to accompany your pastries.
Simple, effective decoration
Maison Céline pastry shop has a beautiful ambiance and elegant decor. A perfect setting to enjoy your favorite pastries while sipping coffee or tea. It’s also a nice place to work with your computer. ATTENTION: there’s no wifi code!
Opening hours and days
Maison Céline is open every day of the week from Monday to Saturday, 8.45am to 7pm.
