The physical activity that’s all the rage at the moment is Reformer Pilates. Whether I’m in Paris or Nice, it’s all the rage! Well, I can assure you that for yogis like me, yoga is still attracting crowds and yoga studios in Nice are still very much in evidence. As for pilates, yes, we’re all familiar with this physical activity, but what is reformer pilates? Well, it’s an evolution of classic pilates, meaning that instead of staying on the floor, you use a specific piece of equipment called a ‘Reformer’. It’s a trolley equipped with springs and straps that allows you to work with greater precision and resistance. This method offers a real all-round workout for the body: it strengthens the core, improves posture and balance, and develops flexibility and fluidity of movement, all without overloading the joints.
Accessible to all, Reformer Pilates can be practised in individual classes, in pairs or in small groups. It can be adapted for beginners and experienced athletes alike, making it a very versatile and comprehensive exercise.
Why is Reformer Pilates becoming more and more popular?
In our often sedentary and stressful daily lives, Reformer Pilates is the perfect answer to the need for strengthening, posture and well-being. There are both gentle classes, focusing on body awareness, and more dynamic formats to tone and sculpt the body. And because the experience is carried out on modern machines and in specialised studios, it offers a real ‘premium’ setting for taking care of yourself.
Reformer Pilates opens in Nice
Over the last few years, I’ve noticed a strong growth in reformer pilates in Nice, which has made a firm place for itself on the Nice studio scene. There are now several studios devoted entirely to the practice. These studios offer regular classes, ranging from group to individual sessions, and are located mainly in the city centre, accessible to professionals and residents of Nice. Reformer pilates is no longer a rare practice or one reserved for the elite: it’s becoming a real wellness option for those who want to take care of their body and posture, while working on strength and body awareness.
