No sea view, no rooftop and yet, the cave du cours is the ideal wine bar to have an aperitif with your friends in a good mood. Like the Bocca Nissa, the Cave du Cours is also located in the heart of Old Nice in one of the lost streets. You will fall under the charm of this wine cellar where the jovial and warm atmosphere embellishes this so discreet and intimate street. The golden rules are quality and generosity.
1. Quality for an outstanding service!
The team will be able to advise you on the different types of wine among the 250 references, essentially natural wine. And yes, natural wine has become popular in the region! Natural wine is wine made from organically grown grapes. These grapes are hand-picked and vinified without chemicals such as sulphur and with minimal human intervention. A true quality wine!
The products of the Cave du Cours come exclusively from Europe, notably France, Italy, Greece and Portugal.
2. Generosity for more conviviality
If you take a bottle of wine, don’t be surprised if small plates of cold meats, mozzarella tomatoes, breads and terrines are placed at your table without you even having ordered anything. And that is the strength of the cellar of the course, the team gives without necessarily receiving. You will be able to taste quality products. The aim is to have a good time without feeling the commercial spirit. It’s better to toast with a good plate of food, isn’t it?
Please note that the cellar of the course is not a restaurant. If you’re really hungry, first have an aperitif at the cave du cours and then book a good restaurant in Nice or a table in a rooftop in Nice with a panoramic view of the sea and/or the hills in the hinterland. There is clearly no shortage of that here!
3. Authentic decoration in the cellar of the course
A victim of its success in the middle of summer, the cave du cours attracts a good number of passers-by who come to drink with friends. The risk of not having a table is not surprising if you arrive after 7pm. But don’t worry, the team at the Cave du Cours will always find a place for you in its very winegrowing decor: wooden crates, barrels and bottles of wine scattered everywhere… right down to the toilets for a total immersion. Here, authenticity, simplicity and conviviality prevail.
