It is impossible to spend a stay in Nice without tasting a good artisanal ice cream, especially during the summer. A simple pleasure that I love after a good meal in one of the Mediterranean restaurants in Nice or during a little stroll. Walking through the narrow streets of old Nice with my ice cream cone and a scoop of yoghurt is my weekend ritual. And finding good ice-cream parlours in Nice is not what is missing.
Here is my selection of the 7 best ice cream shops in Nice:
1. Arlequin ice cream parlour
Without doubt the best artisanal ice cream shop in Nice for me and for many others 🙂 Just look at the reviews on their google my business page and you’ll understand! The tastes are unusual and the flavours are of great quality: special mention for the Sicilian nougat!
This ice cream parlour was created in 2006 by Roberto, a Milanese by birth, who had the ambition to introduce tasty ice creams with unique tastes.
📍 9 Av. Malaussena, 06000 Nice – 📞 04 93 04 69 88

2. césar Milano ice cream parlour
For those of you in Nice who don’t know, the Cesar Milano ice cream parlour is the second outlet of the Harlequin and is only 800m away from each other. Located on rue Jean Médecin, the prices are a bit more expensive than the competitors but the quality is there.
📍 43 avenue jean médecin 06000 Nice – 📞 04 89 92 09 35
3. Fenocchio ice cream parlour
Impossible to talk about ice cream without talking about Fenocchio! Without doubt the most famous and most touristic ice cream shop in Nice. Located in the old town of Nice with two establishments, it is a must for every tourist who comes to visit the old town of Nice. You will discover there more than unusual flavours such as: cactus, lavender, baileys, jasmine, avocado… and you will find of course the most classical flavours! Special mention for the yoghurt!
📍 6 Rue de la Poissonnerie – 📞 04 93 62 88 80
📍 28 Bd Jean Jaurès, 06300 Nice – 📞 04 93 88 93 06
📍 2 Pl. Rossetti 06300 Nice – 📞 04 89 92 09 35
4. Neron ice cream parlour
Another unusual ice cream parlour address in the old town of Nice. Created by a former pastry chef Louis Dubois and his wife, they opened this patisserie 3 years ago. Here everything is fresh and home-made. You can find cream and sorbet ice creams, pastries, waffles… without colouring, nor preservatives and with very few sugars. Highly rated on their google my business page with a 4.7 rating, go there with your eyes closed!
📍 15, Place Saint-François, 06300 Nice – 📞 04 89 92 09 35
5. Azzuro ice cream parlour
The direct competitor of the fenocchio ice cream parlour is the Azzuro ice cream parlour located at the entrance of the Place Rossetti. Known and appreciated for its ice creams, sorbets and its exquisite cornet, Azzuro is a small family business from Nice which only offers home-made ice creams. The cornet is also made in front of you and you will have the choice among a multitude of tasty flavours.
For info, the Azzuro ice cream shop had received the 2nd best ice cream shop in France in 2014!
📍 1 Rue Sainte-Reparate, 06300 Nice – 📞 04 93 13 92 24
6. Peccati di Gola ice cream parlour
A discreet ice cream parlour far from the crowd and the centre but worth knowing. I discovered it because a friend of mine lived in the Gambetta area and introduced me to this incredible ice cream shop. A real Italian ice cream, very creamy and generously served, which made a big impression on me.
Created in 1997, you will find a large choice of artisanal ice creams
📍 34 Bd Gambetta, 06000 Nice – 📞 04 93 16 01 24
7. Oui jelato ice cream parlour
A very well located ice cream parlour in old Nice, more precisely on the Place du Palais de Justice. I’ve always walked past it over the years but I’ve never taken the time to try their ice cream. What a mistake on my part… My friend took me there and I fell in love. Yes, jelato is an artisanal ice-cream parlour that sets itself apart from the competition by offering biscuit ice-cream. Curious as ever, I try one… I had a bit of trouble eating it haha but I wasn’t disappointed. Well, I prefer their artisanal ice creams all the same!
📍 5, rue de la préfecture – place du palais de justice 06300 Nice – 📞 06 61 33 15 82
8. Terre Adélice ice cream parlour
Finally an artisanal and 100% organic ice cream parlor in the heart of old Nice! I thought I had seen everything in terms of tastes with Fennocchio but Terre Adélice definitely plays a bit on the same field by offering other flavors as well or even more enigmatic: black sesame, red pepper, goat cheese, tomato basil… Yes, this can discourage some who have more classic tastes but I assure you that we also find more sober and just as good flavors: strawberry, chocolate, yogurt, pistachio, etc…
📍 1 rue Jules Gilly, 06300 Nice – 📞 04 93 85 58 97
9. Frisson ice cream parlour
Both an ice cream parlor and a coffee shop, Frisson has dared to set up shop 200 meters from the most famous ice cream parlor in Nice: Fennocchio. However, this new ice cream parlor knows how to stand out by offering something new: iced brioche, a kind of brioche cut in two to which two scoops of ice cream are added. Added to this, Frisson ice creams also differ in their origin since they are made from buffalo milk, a milk that has many virtues for the body (richer in protein, vitamins and minerals, provides antioxidant protection and has half the cholesterol of cow’s milk). It is also an alternative for people who are lactose intolerant.
Regarding the tastes, you will find the most classic: yogurt, chocolate, pistachio, strawberry, peach …
