Spring is back in our beautiful region of the French Riviera and the temperatures are mild too. The daisies are growing like mushrooms, the Mediterranean plants are starting to bloom slowly but surely. In short, April is shaping up to be a sweet and colourful month in the south 🙂
April is the beginning of the Renaissance! After the gloom of winter, life is reborn from its ashes…it’s always a pivotal time of the year, we leave our cosy nest little by little to get out our noses, sniff the seasonal flowers and feel the little warmth that warms the heart.
Come on, it’s decided! We’re going to enjoy a nice walk on the French Riviera with a view of the sea, without covering ourselves up too much, but a little bit anyway… As the saying goes, “in April, don’t lose your head”. Advice : always keep a good scarf and a big jacket with you, the wind can be a bit tricky, I know what I’m talking about ha !
And if the temperatures are still sometimes cool enough to go outside, there is now a stream of indoor activities and events in the region that could suit everyone.
Here’s an overview of the French Riviera Programme in April 2023:
1. The Garden Festival of French Riviera
A festival that started on March 25th and ends on May 1st. Little communication is made on this festival and yet, it proposes visits and workshops extremely rich and varied in the big cities of the French Riviera from Cannes to Menton and this for free! Find the complete programme HERE.
2. Nice Art Expo
A cultural event which takes place on April 14th, 15th and 16th in which you can find a concentrate of masterpieces on more than 4000m2 selected by a committee of experts. Exhibition, round table, conference, animations… discover contemporary art from another angle. Don’t forget to book your tickets HERE
3. Tennis Rolex Monte Carlo Series
After nature and art, it is sport that invites itself in this April calendar with the Monte Carlo tournament, a famous tennis tournament that is part of the masters series. A sporting event that will take place from 8 to 16 April 2023. You can find all the programme of the tournament on this link.
4. Strawberry festival
I know that many food lovers follow my account, so I couldn’t fail to mention the Strawberry Festival which takes place in Carros on April 22nd and 23rd. It’s one of my favourite fruits and when I saw it on the programme, it was obvious that I was planning a little trip to Carros on those dates.
5. The meeting place for bargain hunters
Direction CAP3000, elected most beautiful shopping centre in the world in 2022, for the famous “rendez-vous des chineurs” on Sunday 23rd April. A shopping event with a sea view that allows you to find vintage items that you won’t find anywhere else! More than a hundred stands will be set up with parasols where you will find everything and anything (clothes, glasses, jewellery, decoration, vynil, small furniture… etc.)
