Here is one of the water activities in Nice that is really on the rise! I’m talking of course about stand up paddle, you know that activity where people are on a board and paddle with a paddle while standing on their board.
For some people, it may seem boring but for others, it is their favorite water activity. For me, even if I love snorkeling on the French Riviera in the summer, I must admit that I regularly practice paddle boarding on the French Riviera. Although this water activity may seem casual, it is also an activity that requires a lot of self control and a lot of sheathing to stay upright on the board.
The Mediterranean Sea is the ideal place to practice this nautical activity, its calm and flat sea brings softness and serenity during this activity. So I’ve put together a list of heavenly spots that you must do while paddling:
1. The Cap d’Antibes
The Plage des ondes Beach in Cap d’Antibes is without doubt THE spot for all the paddle lovers. Facing west, the ideal is to go there at the end of the day to enjoy the magnificent sunsets during your paddle sessions. The Golden Hours are incredible.
2. Villefranche-sur-mer
Without doubt, one of the most paradisiacal spots of the French Riviera to practice paddle. Villefranche-sur-mer is full of small intimate beaches with a turquoise blue sea. The views of the lush nature surrounding the coastal path Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat and the villas overlooking the bay of Villefranche are just breathtaking. It is the ideal spot for those who prefer to paddle in the morning. Moreover, every summer, you have a paddle rental stand at the level of the beach of the marinière
3. The Lerins Islands
A real jewel of the French Riviera! The Lerins Islands is a real adventure place, known for its wild nature and its numerous heavenly creeks. Only 1200 meters from the Palm beach, every year we see more and more people leaving from this place to reach the islands by stand up paddle.
Be careful, this is only possible for those who own a board that is more than 3.5m long. Also, it will be necessary to have a safety kit for this crossing: leash, flashlight, 50N vest, anchor point.
4. Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat
Located just after the bay of villefranche sur mer, the peninsula of saint jean cap ferrat is full of beaches that offer an incredible view of the beautiful landscapes of the French Riviera. From the fair beach, we come face to face with the sublime bay of villefranche sur mer. While the beach Paloma offers us an incredible view on beaulieu and eze.
5. The creeks of Saint-Raphaël
Saint-Raphael is full of heavenly coves and creeks, my favorite is the creek of Saint-Barthélémy. Known to be one of the wildest and most natural places of the French Riviera with its ochre and orange cliffs, the scenery is breathtaking, so imagine yourself paddling in this little corner of paradise!
