Bocca Nissa is THE trendy rooftop restaurant in Old Nice
It’s a must-visit address that offers a unique culinary and lifestyle experience in a superbly decorated space. I’d already taken the time to write an article about Bocca Nissa Nice, where I like to dine with friends on their all-plant rooftop. Here I am again, giving you 5 reasons to try this restaurant and rooftop bar.
1. A strategic location
Bocca Nissa
is a Mediterranean restaurant in Nice located at the entrance to the famous Cours Saleya, just a stone’s throw from the sea. What luxury! The entrance is quite discreet, and at first glance you might think you’re entering a courtyard. Not at all, as you’d never really imagine that this alleyway would take you to the first floor, where you’ll find an authentic place full of charm. A nice surprise.
2. Natural decor
The first thing that struck me was the beautiful, freshly natural decor, with its mix of materials: wood, lime, ceramics, glass, rattan, greenery… This combination of natural elements transports us elsewhere for the evening. A truly pleasurable experience.
3. The Bocca Nissa menu
The Bocca Nissa menu offers rich, tasty Mediterranean cuisine. You’ll mainly find tapas and dishes to share with friends: hummus, halloumi fritto, fried artichokes, octopus, keftas, Greek-style beans… The prices are relatively reasonable even if I find that the quantity sometimes leaves something to be desired..
4. The 100% plant-based rooftop
A rooftop in old Nice?! You’ll only find it at Bocca Nissa. But don’t expect anything too fancy or chic – this is Mowgli in the Jungle Book. The rooftop is an extension of the indoor restaurant, with the same natural materials used: wood, rattan, green plants… The only difference is that the terrace is lit up that evening by hanging lanterns. The rooftop of the Bocca Nissa is entirely planted over 250m2. For me, it’s the most original rooftop in Nice.
5. Discotheque toilets
They say it’s all in the detail, and the Bocca Nissa has understood this. It could have stopped at its rooftop, its decoration, its tasty dishes… But no, the Bocca Nissa adds an even more original touch with its famous disco toilets! I’ll leave you to see for yourself.
