It’s no secret that inflation has been everywhere since the end of the pandemic! Whether it’s petrol or supermarkets, it’s everywhere, and restaurants themselves are no exception. Some dishes have even gone up in price by 2/3 euros. So I went on the hunt to find restaurants in Nice offering very good value for money, and one Italian restaurant in particular caught my eye: PANEOLIO
1. An innovative concept: a 100% all-you-can-eat Italian aperitif
Each restaurant has its own DNA, and all the better for it! As much as Bocca Nissa is going to offer a 100% plant-based rooftop, Paneolio is going to offer another rather innovative concept in Nice: an all-you-can-eat Italian buffet organised every day from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at the derisory price of 7 euros (drinks included). Suffice to say, this is a little nugget in the heart of Nice
2. On the Paneolio menu
Well, it’s not elaborate haute cuisine, but in any case it’s still decent and edible. You can enjoy
- antipasti
- pasta dishes
- slices of pizza (tuna, ham, vegetarian…)
- foccaccia
- rice salads
- fruit dishes
Mind you, the buffet is taken by storm fairly quickly (we barely have time to take a photo) but fortunately, it fills up again fairly quickly
If you don’t fancy the all-you-can-eat buffet, you can also order à la carte dishes at equally attractive prices. The menu includes pizzas (very good), pasta, meat, fish and salads
3. The place and the team
Paneolio is a friendly restaurant with a sunny terrace open all day long. Its strategic location at the entrance to the old town of Nice attracts a large number of visitors. The team is made up of real Italians and they’re really top-notch
4. Useful information
The restaurant is located at the entrance to Vieux-Nice at 6 boulevard Jean Jaurès
Opening times: 8am to midnight every day of the week.
