Hello my lovely readers,
i’m publishing a very special article today. A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Julien and Jean Raphaël, the two founders of “RDV sur la Prom” who are going to meet the people of Nice so that they can share their experience in the form of a podcast. A communication format that is very fashionable at the moment but which is missing in Nice (as usual haha).
In short, I accept without hesitation since I really have no problem talking about my famous life change that I made in 2013: leaving Paris for Nice
The podcast format
This is a communication format that I listen to all the time, especially on subjects of personal development and spirituality. So when I’m asked to be the main character in a podcast this time, I feel like I’m already trained for this exercise because I listen to so many. I know what tone to use, the words to use… etc. Moreover, on the theme of Paris / Nice, which is a bit of my own life, I simply say to myself “fingers on the noise”! GO.
Fingers on the noise…. Or not!
Here I am, sitting at the table, headphones on, microphone facing me.
Julien starts the jingle (very professional, by the way), then it’s Jean-Raphaël’s turn, the journalist, who starts to introduce me in a very professional way (like Harry Roselmack). The tone is set, I’m actually a bit impressed. In my head, I measure the trick, I who came with my hands in my pockets, I suddenly realize that this is not just an exchange between friends where we tell jokes every two seconds, but much more than that.
I realise in a matter of seconds:
- i’m going to have to keep a certain “correct and required” oral behaviour during the whole recording
- that I’m going to have to reveal myself in a very personal way, even if it means exposing a part of my vulnerability, something I’ve never done before and even less in the form of a podcast that will be listened to by several people!
It’s frankly quite frightening for a person like me, who is discreet and has always had this need to hide, to have to reveal myself and orally at that. So, caught up in the stress, my first words are a little flayed at first. Thank God, I let go very quickly
An extraordinary flow
What struck me most during this podcast was the energy it took me to talk about myself for 45 minutes. I already never expose myself orally on my instagram account love-ly-south but then, talking about ME for 45 minutes was a real challenge! In the end, I played the game and enjoyed it a lot.
Such relevant questions
I discovered the questions on the spot even though I knew more or less what I was going to be asked: what do you miss about Paris? What are the differences between Paris and Nice? What is your background? What are your favourite restaurants …etc. I also talk about the activities I’m passionate about, I mention the Heels classes in Nice, my favourite rooftop which is the Bocca Nissa… But also deeper subjects about the conditioning of society, the overconsumption to which we are exposed…
And then, Jean Raphaël asks me THE question that touches me: that of spirituality. A very strong subject for me since Nice allowed me to experience a spiritual awakening a few years ago that changed my life. I won’t say any more about it, it will be the subject of a very special article soon 🙂
In any case, thank you Jean Raphaël, a real journalist with a good eye!
Well, without further ado, here is an extract from my podcast below:
