On the other hand, the south is less well known for the Pan Bagnat, which is nevertheless the flagship sandwich made in Nice. A very simple sandwich made of bread, tomatoes, tuna and a drizzle of olive oil that can be found at the famous René Socca in the old town of Nice. 1. What if we made it a brand of stylish clothing in the era of time?

At first sight, this may seem totally disconcerting… And yet, this is the bold bet that Marie and Bastien, the founders of the brand Pan Bagnat PNBT. Both originally from the French Riviera, it was after several weekends spent in Brittany and Paris browsing in souvenir shops that their desire to create a brand began to be felt. Indeed, attached to their origins and conscious of living in one of the most beautiful regions of France, Marie and Bastien have the wish to propose a brand that will allow the people of Nice to proudly affirm their identity. Affirmation yes, but not just any old way! Gone are grandma’s lace, checkered tablecloths and fluorescent yellow T-shirts with Nice written in gold.

I must admit that the first time I heard the name of the brand, I spontaneously said to myself “another kitschy southern thing” and yet the duo managed to surprise me. Indeed, Marie and Bastien want to break the codes in the south and have the ambition to make the culture of Nice evolve by bringing it more modernity. Passionate about fashion and sneakers, they naturally came up with the idea of creating a modern streetwear brand that they proudly named “Pan Bagnat PNBT“. A daring gamble, especially when you know how attached the local population is to its traditions.

2. Basic and timeless pieces

Pan Bagnat PNBT is a brand that will destabilize some people but will be appreciated by others, especially by the new generation that is becoming more and more important. In a society where fast fashion is in full swing, where all clothes look the same, there is a growing desire to wear unique pieces, but also to highlight one’s own identity and even to wear brands that are committed to shared values.

This is the case of Pan Bagnat PNBT, which offers a collection of basic and timeless clothes where simplicity reigns supreme. Don’t expect cheap cotton that wrinkles easily or shrinks after 2 washes. Fast fashion today is not very interesting for any brand, especially when you see the damage it causes to the environment.

4. A brand that makes you smile

That’s the first thing I did when I heard the name for the first time 🙂 . I even laughed a bit!

And why Pan Bagnat anyway? It could have been pissaladière or stuffed tomatoes ^^

First of all, Pan Bagnat is the founders’ favourite sandwich, but above all it was chosen for the values that this sandwich represents: sharing, simplicity, conviviality, pride, the south, smiles… A set of positive values that the brand wants to share with you in a joyful and good mood.
